Since about 1986 I have been creating "Inversions" from people names and other words.
An Inversion is where a word is written so that is reads the same upside down. Above is the name Mykal. This is the only example that I have animated. You'll have to stand on your head (if you want) for the others. The logo for SUDS (elsewhere in this website) is also an Inversion.
I originally got the idea for doing this from a book called Inversions: Catalogue of Calligraphic Cartwheels by Scott Kim. Since this book was published Kim has started referring to these objects as "ambigrams".
