When tremors hit Seattle, USA they left an imprint in a sand tray, caused by a suspended pendulum. As the earth shook, so did the tray... and the weight traced out the pattern of a flower.


Then, some years later, when I visited Mexico City, a city that experiences some seismic activity, the hotel I stayed in had their own quake rose apparatus set up.

This is the logo for Expo 2000, which was held in Hanover, Germany. I like this because it is the antithesis of a good logo. A good logo should be clear, bold, recognisable from a distance and easily reproducable. This is a sort of anti-logo. And it's still a good logo.
